Jumpies

I might see what she thinks of it in the summer without the dirty ditch water. But she's sensible in saying no and she offers an alternative.
In one way she does look after me, by looking after herself.

That's my idea of a partnership!

The horses I think are some of the most unsafe are the ones who don't have a self preservation instinct. I like to think that if I can at least stay on I'm not going to come to grief.

And this is a photo of what jumpies look like when she's being a naughty cob!

She's on the wrong side of the fence, but it's so wet now that the electric fence posts almost lean over if you fart on them. 😂
She can't wait to go back to her paddock and that's her "mum I got blown over and I couldn't get back, am I pleased you!

Sometimes you can't do jumpies as that will excite the herd that's grazing in front of you.
But since we have expanded the exploring there are other jumpies.

That's looks fab!! Wow go have fun with that. 😍

Mine would like to walk it first, actually she's the only horse I know that would want to walk the xc course with you! 🙄🤦‍♀️

That's awesome.
I really love the fact that you are finding fun things to pop over and through.
And look at those trees, bound to be one that drops a branch or two. Great place to play.

Here's today's obstacle. Sorry for the wonky angle, Sid was not impressed by being asked to go back so I could take a photo:

It's a living tree that for some reason has grown horizontally. The trees on either side and a branch just above, which you can't see in the photo, make it interesting. I have wanted to jump it since forever and today we did.

There are only about 3 trot strides available in front of it but Sid said that was plenty and that this obstacle was worth a proper jump and a proper pleased canter away after. He was so happy with himself we went to the jumping ring and did two more, a smaller one from trot, the biggest one from canter. Happy horse. Happy me!

So is that annoying thing sticking up just a bit of branch then? Do you think it would mind being shorter, 😂

I think I might have found similar to your sunken road, it's actually where the path splits, or falls apart depending on your viewpoint 😂
collage-1677610428557.jpgI could ride through, over the bridge, half circle over the other bridge and pop up that bank. She can walk down the slope, I don't fancy asking her to step down unless I am being confident up top.

This part doesn't really lend itself to being a bank, it's a baby hill.
You can just see the other bank in the bottom right photo.
I might explore a bit more and see if anything else could make a little circle.

Found this bit of wood today that's got potential. am not sure if the reeds are going to be in the way to get a straight approach.
I could let her nibble a hole so she can pop over those first.

I got a photo of one of the holes.
Grass holes 😂
She's not stupid though she knows to go round that.
